Agriculture is a critical pillar in the economy of the Eastern Cape province. This is particulaly important for the Amathole District Municipality whose economy is 40% based on Agriculture. While a lot is being done to realise the offerings that this sector can offer, the Agricultural sector and its potential remains largely unexploited. The District hosted its 6th Agricultural Expo at the Ncumisa Kondlo Hall in Ngqushwa local municipality recently. Various up and coming farmers showcased their work. This is a two day programme aimed at empowering farmers in the district and as well as offering a platform for networking and exploring opportunities for partnerships between various stakeholders to take the Agricultural sector of Amathole District forward.
