Eastern Cape Government observes Women's month


All roads led to Afred Nzo District Municipality recently , as the Province observed Women's month at the Police Fields in Mount Ayliff. August is Women's month and Eastern Cape Provincial Government chose to observe the important milestone that took place 63 years ago, on the 9th of August 1956 - when women from across the country marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, against pass laws.
In his main address, Eastern Cape Premier, Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, epmhasised the need for women representation in all sectors - from Government, Business to Civil Society. Premier Mabuyane also spoke at length about the need to fight women abuse, with men at the forefront and joined by the rest of society. He also encouraged women to support each other in their various endeavours.
