Eastern Cape Former Premier Phumulo Masualle hands over equipment to Amathole District Municipality youths

Eastern Cape Former Premier, Hon. Phumulo Masualle, recently handed over equipment to Youth Legacy Projects at Amathole District Municipality, in  Dutywa Town Hall. The Youth Development Programme, which is in boost to Local Economic Development & Youth Legacy Projects, is geared towards ensuring the sustainability of young entrepreneurs within the district whilst simultaneously pursuing local economic development goals.
This programme is part of the Provincial Government Youth Development Strategy initiative that seeks to support youth enterprise as part of stimulating the socio- economic activity in the province. It is also aimed at providing non-financial support that will assist in empowering and sustaining the youth projects, as well as to expose and create awareness for the projects within their communities.
The event was organised by the Office of The Premier in partnership with the Departments of Sports Recreation Arts and Culture, Economic Development & Environmental Affairs as well as Social Development. Stakeholders such as the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and the South African Youth Council (SAYC) are also part of the programme.
On the day, the following Projects from Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality benefited: Umnqophiso Agricultural Cooperative vegetable cropping project, Lerato ICT Group online digital media, Fiola Multimedia internet café and Events Company, Bomela Agricultural vegetable production project, Ntinga Nje Ngokhozi Cooperative project which specialises in fencing of Jojweni Location.
