The Eastern Cape Premier, Phumulo Masualle undertook the second leg of his Post-State of the Province (SOPA) Engagements with the farming community - this time at Kirkwood in Sundays River Valley municipality - Sarah Baartman district. The district is well known for its citrus farming, cattle farming, mohair and chicory production. The Post-SOPA engagement with farmers, as well as communities of Sundays River Valley also somewhat served as a follow-up by Premier Masualle, on matters that were discussed with the farmers back in 2016. These include road infrastructure, empowerment of black farmers and bulk water services, amongst others.
The Premier was accompanied by Treasury MEC, Sakhumzi Somyo, as well as Rural Development and Agrarian Reform MEC, Mlibo Qhoboshiyana.
