Work will resume in full force in the Office of the Premier (OTP) in the Eastern Cape tomorrow 10 July 2017, after part of the main building in Bhisho caught fire recently. The fire damaged a section of the building and now the ground and first floors have been cleaned and are ready for occupation by the personnel.
Last week essential services whose work stations are on the second floor – East Wing of the main building at Independence Avenue e.g. Finance, Human Resources Management and Supply Chain Management; were accommodated in other buildings of the OTP around Bhisho. These units will remain in those alternative accommodations whilst the rest of other employees will return to their usual work stations in the main building.
The Top Management would like to thank members of the public and employees of the OTP for their patience and understanding during this period. Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
